Are the third row Grand Circle seats good at the Victoria Palace Theatre in London?

well i wouldnt say they are great, look at the seating plan, but theres always something about being in the top tier at the theatre. i would say try and get seats in the middle front if possible - but if you cant dont worry, being up that high just makes it a better atmosphere in my opinion

Yes, if you are in the FIRST row center.

How should you dress to attend an even performance at the Palace Theatre in London?

Performance at Christmas/New Year.

How should you dress to attend an even performance at the Palace Theatre in London?concert venue

Well, unless I'm vry much mistaken you'll be watching Python's Spamalot, so how's about suspenders and a bra! Ok maybe you're no Knight or Lumberjack so go as you feel comfortable. Theatre's a more open activity these days and the social taboo surrounding it's gone too.

How should you dress to attend an even performance at the Palace Theatre in London?events opera theater

dress as you normally would dont pretend to be someone or something your not dont feel that you have to dress up because your going to a performance at the palace theatre
There is no dress code at the Palace Theatre. I've been to plenty of West End shows in jeans and no one's raised an eyebrow. Sure, there are people who make a special effort to dress up, but then there are plenty of tourists with their day packs and trainers.

Generally, I dress according to where I'm planning to eat dinner that night.
There is no "dress code" for any ordinary performance at any London theatre, so you could turn up in jeans and a t-shirt and no one will care. Everyone will be dressed casually.
Just the opposite from the way you'd dress for an odd performance ... I ...suppose ?
Smart to smart-casual if you want to fit in.

Alternatively, why not wear something amusing, like a reindeer outfit with oversized head?
wear smart and go for layers! it can get really hot inside
Unfortunately most people don't dress up too much for the theatre these days - if it's a Friday or Saturday, then people tend to dress up a little more. Most importantly, be comfortable - I hear Spamalot is a great show and you will laugh lots so make sure it is something you can move in as you will be rocking back and forth! I would think smart to smart casual is the best way to go.
a lil black dress with a shrug would work fine along with pearls or diamonds!

u could wear a formal red number too or something attractive like fushia or ochre depending if u are flirtatious with colors.

else stick to the normal black dress and u wont go wrong!!!

wear the heels high!! it will give an oomph! to ur legs.......

go get it

Seating at Caesars Palace Coliseum?

Can anyone tell me about seating at the Caesars Palace Coliseum? I am looking to book tickets and there appear to be three sections to the coliseum seating chart: the orchestra section, 1st mezzanine, and 2nd mezzanine.

Is the theatre huge? Is the 2nd mezzanine too far from the stage? Has anyone ever been there? I see that the theatre holds 4,000 people, so I am assuming it is not too huge? I am looking to book Jerry Seinfeld tickets so proximity to the stage is not a huge deal, but I don't want to be too far either.

Thanks to all!

Seating at Caesars Palace Coliseum?mr messed up

Ther really isn't a bad seat in that venue as far as theater seating goes. The place is not huge as far as venues go. But If given a choice I would go with the seats in the first half of the First Mezzanine, if you can't get the Front Orchestra. There's actually 4 sections-

Front Orchestra

Rear Orchestra

First Mezzanine

Second Mezzanine

My choices would be-

Front Orchestra

First Mezzanine (But try for the first few rows of the first mezzanine. If you can't get that then try for Rear Orchestra)

The second Mezzanine would be my last choice.Only because it's a bit of a steep angle.

As for distance. The reason I would go with the first rows of the first mezzanine over the rear orchestra, is you're about the same distance from the stage... just a bit higher up and sometimes the ticket prices are slightly lower. Though not always. Also as I mentioned before. The venue is on the small side. Even the furthest seats from the stage are about 120-125 feet away and only about 50 feet up.

Seating at Caesars Palace Coliseum?getting late opera theater

We saw Elton John in the Coliseum last year, and I agree that there isn't a bad seat in the place. It was designed so that the farthest seat from the stage is only 120 ft away.

I think you'd be just fine in the upper level. It is high, but not far back. And it's not nearly as high as you'd expect.

Help with flights and hotels?

I am booking a retirement gift for my boss. Have already booked tickets for him and a friend to see Spamalot on 26th May Palace Theatre London. Thing is I need to book flights from either Glasgow International or Glasgow Prestwick. But which London airport would be easiest to reach? Stansted, Gatwick, Heathrow??? Also can anyone recommend a hotel that is near the Palace Theatre i.e. walking distance or tube/taxi. Many many thanks!

Help with flights and hotels?tickets

Heathrow is quite an easy airport to fly into if you are heading back into lonond. as it's right on the tube line. If you go to stansted you have to get a coach into london. which is only a pain if there's a traffic hold up!

go to google and type in west end theatres...good luck! hope they have a good time!

Will somebody stop selling queen bee honey to bruce forsyth so he can disappear from our screens?

I'm going to a concert next week and I was wondering if anyone knew if you could see the stage

I'm going to the Louisville Palace Theatre and the seats are toward the back of the balcony. Does anyone know if you can even see the stage from the seats are not? And if there are any empty seats in the theatre during the show, can you go and sit there instead?

I'm going to a concert next week and I was wondering if anyone knew if you could see the stage from the seats?concerts

There are no bad seats in the Palace. It not a large enough venue for there to be. I have found that once the main act goes on they generally do make sure you are sitting where you are supposed to be. The Palace is a beautiful place. I has good acoustics, and fair prices at the bar. Again, i wouldn't worry about your seat location, even if they are in the back row of the balcony. You are sure to have a great time.

Also, I would recommend parking on the corner of 4th Street %26amp; Chestnut. The is a parking lot on this corner (get there early to get a spot) it is only $5 to park, and you have quick access to the freeway from Chestnut.

Have fun in Louisville!

TRY Tiger Tiger in the haymarket?
LVPO, or my favourite - Bar Soho on Old compton street. They do nice cocktails there too and you can sit outside if the weather is nice.
Tiger Tiger Yuckkkk be too expensive, i live 5 miles from ther but i know west end quite well, i know 1 right next to the Palace theatre [ spamalot is there now] if you go just past the theatre look towards you and you will see it, quite big inside it is too, and has a bar down stairs too i think, just been on yahoo search and i'm sorry i can't find it, but its not Cambridge Soho [93 Charing x Road] its just 20-30 yards back from here by 2 telephone boxes.

There is also some close by in Greek Street, but they can get packed sometimes at lunch time, or there are 2 off the avenue at 25 AND 29 Rupert Street only 2 mins away from Cambridge Circus, enjoy !

How long is a live production of the Phantom of the Opera?

I'm looking into seeing the Phantom of the Opera at the Cadillac Palace Theatre in Chicago, Ill. Does anyone have any idea how long the show will be? I need to know so I can figure out transportation.

How long is a live production of the Phantom of the Opera?performing arts

Approx. 3 hours. They may start late or have a longer intermission than a typical 15 minutes. Also account for the time it takes people to leave the theatre. Calling the box office or checking the website may be helpful because they can give you the running time of the musical.

How long is a live production of the Phantom of the Opera?binoculars opera theater

Usually I heard the live production is about 2 and a half hours. I seen it in Las Vegas and its only an hour and a half there because the cut the acting out of it but still do every song. Usually Broadway production of Phantom of the Opera and such is 2 and a half hours. It's amazing to see and you won't regret it.
I'd guess at least 3hrs. But you can call the theatre and get the running time.
i think that it is about 3 hrs is they start late or 2 hours if they start on time.
About 2 hours maybe? If it has been running for a few days now, you can call the hosting facility and they will be able to tell you. I saw it years ago at the Municipal Auditorium in San Antonio, it was great.

The Republicans!
Obama by far. It's true he had to fend off BOTH Hill and Bill.
I think that Edward's was able to come through it looking good, just by standing aside and letting Obama and Hillary take shots at each other. I think that between Hillary and Obama, Obama came through looking stronger. He proved to a lot of doubters that he isn't afraid to stand up to the Clinton Political Machine. All in all it was the best debate yet. Congrats on being there. That must have been special.
Takes notes... The Breck Girl was riding cowgirl between Clinton and Obama....

sad
well.. clinton got BOOOOOOOED
I agree. I think Edwards came out on top.
I'm all debated out so I didn't watch it last night. The debates are really pointless. A lot of voters do not even watch the debates and the politicians never answer the questions truthfully.
Hillary won the debate because now EVERYONE knows she can fight and fight hard and fight dirty.

John Edwards is great and he is also a fighter but he does not stand a chance against a woman and Obama, unless they manage to destroy one another. John would make a good honest candidate for President.
The terrorists
the corporate media
i think everyone involved in a debate on Martin Luther King Day looses. shame on the democrats and shame on CNN

Ah, democracy in action.UPDATE, 11:51 p.m.: Searching my inbox, I noticed that the Obama campaign has announced seven superdelegate pickups since March 4. So there might be something to my "steady drip" theory. With seven weeks until Pennsylvania, a constant stream of superdelegate endorsements is a good way to create the impression of momentum--whether or not the supers in question decided to endorse today, yesterday or last month. Conversely, a sudden flood this week might've struck observers as a show of pre-March 4 support--and left them wondering whether Obama could keep attracting superdelegates after Clinton's wins in Ohio and Texas. Now it *looks like* he is.Hillary Clinton, Barack ObamaPermalink: http://blog.newsweek.com/blogs/stumper/a... Sphere It! Digg It! Roy has filed lawsuits against God, U.S. Presidents, Supreme Court Justices, fast food restaurants, foreign leaders.[2], and Wikipedia [3] [4].Roy's lawsuits have addressed, among many other things, actions taken by President George W. Bush, overcharging by telecommunication companies, the appointment of Chief Justice John Roberts to the Supreme Court, and "failure of democratic societies and God's role therein."[5] In 2006 Judge Michael W. McConnell of The United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit described a typical Roy complaint:Roy, a/k/a Joseph Geronimo, Jr. filed a 115-page complaint, a 144-page amended complaint, and a 40-page second amended complaint against over sixty defendants, including among many others President Bush, God as U.S.-based divine benefactor, several government agencies, The New York Times, and Kentucky Fried Chicken. In addition to pages of rambling discourse, the complaint contains numerous illegible handwritten remarks.[6]The Tenth Circuit went on to affirm the district court's dismissal of the complaint holding that no discernible claim was apparent from the complaint. Judge McConnell also humorously noted that the court "strongly suspect[ed] at least one defendant was not properly served."[7]Most, if not all, of Roy's complaints have been dismissed. A 2006 United States District Court for the District of Delaware opinion, Jungle Democracy v. U.S., describes Roy as "no stranger to litigation" and provides a partial list of Roy lawsuits that have been dismissed since 1991.[8]Despite Roy's lack of success in the courts, his lawsuits have been discussed in law school classrooms and in law related blogs.[9] [10]In April 2007 Roy filed a civil rights action against, among others, CBS Broadcasting Inc., MSNBC, the United States Government, and controversial radio shock jock Don Imus.[11]In October, 2007, Roy filed a suit in the US District Court, Middle District of Florida, against "Wikipedia Encyclopedia, USA, All News Media, All State Board of Elections, Federal Election Commission". Why were radial engined planes more popular in the Pacific Theater?

Why were the Corsair, Wildcat, and Hellcat all used extensively in the Pacific but not in Europe? Same goes for P-51 mostly in Europe but not very much so in the Pacific? Can radials tolerate the weather better (salt water conditions), is it a performance issue (both aerial and carrier)?

Why were radial engined planes more popular in the Pacific Theater?opera music

P38 Lighting, P39 Aircobra, P40 Warhawk, P51 Mustang and the P61 Black Widow were all used in the Pacific as well as being used in Europe.

Radial engines were in fact preferred by the U.S. Navy however it would seem that it may have been a ship bound storage and work space issue more that anything else.

Why were radial engined planes more popular in the Pacific Theater?opera sheet music opera theater

Its an evolution thing. Think, what came after the radial engines. I was shipboard in 1960 when we were transitioning from radials to jets. Do you know how big the radials were, 18 cylinders. The pacific theater didn't have huge radials like we did.
It's more a service thing than an engine thing. The Army Air Corps was primarily in Europe, and they used the P-47 and P-51. The Navy and Marine Corps were primarily in the Pacific, and they used the F4U, F4F and F6F.

Hotel near to Victoria Palace Theatre, London.?

I am planning a theatre break for my parents, and would like to book a hotel central to the victoria palace theatre - it should be nice, as it is for their 40th anniversary. Any help would be appreciated.

The whole area is nothing BUT hotels, so you should have no trouble finding one ! ! !

How about the Crowne Plaza - 4 star hotel very close to the theatre.

You could try a few sites to see if any of them have any deals for this hotel or book directly with them
Have a look at this link, there you can fond all hotels located next to the theatre :

HAve a nice day

K.
There are two nice hotels nearby, the Thistle Victoria and Thistle Westminster. The Victoria is right next to the station and is one of those grand railway hotels of the 19th century with high ceilings and a fancy dining room and tea room. The Westminster is a concrete building but I've been in the lobby and it looks nice. I'm not sure what they cost.

There is another hotel on Wilton Road, just south of the station but I forget its name. And there are scores of guesthouses and B %26amp; Bs in the area. My parents liked the Victoria Inn on Belgrave Rd and stayed there twice. Belgrave Road has a lot, but if you want a special experience, try to see what sort of deal the Thistle Victoria offers.

What is the dress code for the Cadillac Palace Theatre in Chicago?

I'm going to the Cadillac Palace Theatre tomorrow for the showing of 'The Phantom of the Opera' with my girlfriend, and I was just wondering if there's a dress code of sorts. She says I have to wear a suit or something, but I don't want to arrive overdressed. Also, I hate suits, and I don't have to wear one unless I have to. %26gt;.%26gt;

Help? :D

What is the dress code for the Cadillac Palace Theatre in Chicago?opera mini

A sport coat will do. If you feel uncomfortable in suits you probably won't look good in it. Just so some respect for the occasion, I don't like it when people wear dirty jeans to the theater.

Seating at the Palace Theatre on Broadway?

Hey! I have front row center seating in the balcony (second mezzanine) area of the Palace Theatre to see Legally Blonde: The Musical. Can anyone tell me how this seating will be? I read on Wikipedia that nearly every seat has an obstructed view and that the balcony is hard to sell, will I be missing the action onstage?

Seating at the Palace Theatre on Broadway?extension

I don't think I've ever seen anything at the Palace.

However, if you're truly front row center, the seat should be great. There surely can't be a support column right there! :-)

There may, however, be a bank of lights jutting out. If so, they might block your view of the orchestra pit, but I doubt they would intrude on your sightlines of the stage.

Oh, wait -- I just saw the part about your checking Wikipedia, so I went there myself. Very, very strange. I cannot imagine every seat in an entire section having an obstructed view. The only thing that pops into my head is that perhaps the slope in the balcony is not angled enough, so that people in the back see more heads than stage space. If THAT's the case, you're in the clear -- literally! -- since you're in the front row.

If, however, you get there and the view really is blocked -- and if your ticket does not specifically have something printed on it that informs you of the obstructed view, you would be within your rights to get up, find the house manager in the lobby, and demand either better seats or a refund.

Good luck.

What's the closest NJ city to United Palace Theatre?

I'm planning to go to a concert there and don't have much money so I want to stay at a cheap hotel, but I would like to know which NJ city will be the closest to United Palace theatre, I'll use public transportation perhaps train or whatever is available

What's the closest NJ city to United Palace Theatre?secure browser

You didn't provide the address for the UPT, but according to the online research I did (Google), I'm assuming you're referring to the theater at 4140 Broadway (by 175th Street). That would mean that the closest NJ town is Fort Lee, which is where the NJ side of the George Washington Bridge is located.

The Palace Theatre - London?

I am going to see Spamalot at the Place Theatre. But I have no idea where to sit. Out of the following options where is the best place to sit and why?

STALLS, DRESS CIRCLE, GRAND CIRCLE, BALCONY

The Palace Theatre - London?opera singer

The stalls are closest to the stage, but you might have some trouble seeing things that take place at the back of the stage. If you like seeing detail in the actors' performances though, the stalls would definitely be best -- that is, if you can get a seat in the first 10 rows. Otherwise, go with the front of the dress circle since you can see further back on the stage from there.

The Palace Theatre - London?amc theater opera theater

Does the theatre have a website? If so, check out the seating.

I THINK I went there a couple of years ago, and mistakenly thought we were getting good seats. They were many stories high and very hard to climb all the stairs. But I don't remember the designation - but it was an ambiguous and mis-directing name.

If there's no website, the prices of the tickets should give an indication of the best seats - of course, the best seats would be most expensive and on down from there.

"I need a good restaurant near United Palace Theatre NYC"?

You are in the heart of Washington Heights in that neighborhood, so Spanish cuisine, specifically Dominican, in my opinion is the way to go.

La Casa del Mofongo at 1447 St. Nicholas Ave always gets good reviews for it's food and moderate prices.

I've heard good things to about Hispaniola, at 139 w. 181st St. Very authentic Dominican, or so says a friend of mine that keeps wanting to take me, but as of yet, I haven't gone.

Then there is always The New Leaf Cafe which was opened by Bette Midler, in Ft. Tryon Park at 191st St. Here you'll find standard American fare and the proceeds go in part to "cleaning up" and "greening" New York.

Most definitely "El Malecon" right across the street from the theater. I lived in Washington Heights for 17 years, this is the best known restaurant in Washington Heights and very affordable.

Anyone going to the Palace Theatre in Watford tonight?

If so please wave up to the two girls who are at the very top of the theatre doing the spotlight for the show, its a pretty lonely job, but many people dont even realise anyones up there doing it and its a quite important role they play toward the show.

Who played Fantine in Les Miserable, matinee, Palace theatre, in 1989?

I have been looking for a recording of "I dreamed a dream" sung by Fantine, played in 1989 in London Palace Theather, matinee. I saw the show and was impressed very much by the actress played Fantine, but CDs and tapes were performed by another person. Does anyone know who was it in matinee?

Thx.

i was there oct 1990 ... but cant remember her name small girl .....maybe Randy Graff... ?

....

She has no husband and secretly tries to take care of her daughter, Cosette. She pays the Th茅nardiers who are owners of an inn, to care for Cosette. Fantine's only will to live is keeping Cosette alive. She is a worker in Mayor Madeleine's (aka Jean Valjean's) factory. Some of the workers steal a letter with details about Cosette from her, and complain about her, so Valjean allows his foreman to handle the situation. The foreman doesn't listen to her pleas, and fires her.

From here, she sells her belongings, and goes on to be a prostitute to earn money for Cosette. Bambatois trys to buy her services and she rejects. Bambatois goes to Javert and lies, telling him that he was attacked. The mayor, Valjean, comes to help Fantine, and finds out that the only reason she is even a prostitute is that he didn't help her back at the factory. He feels sorry for the innocent Fantine and Cosette, and comes to Fantine's side when she is on her deathbed dying of tuberculosis. Valjean promises he will protect Cosette, and then Fantine dies.

I have installed Opera Mini on my Blackberry. I have the full internet plan $20/mo, but it still says it cannot find a network when it searches for one. Does this have something to do with the fact the Opera Mini is a HTTP browser vs a WAP browser like the one that comes standard on my BB? If so, how do I enable HTTP browsing?

How far away is united palace theatre in manhattan from penn station?

i looked on mapquest and it wouldnt tell me, i need help ASAP! thanks....oh yeah and cna someone please tell me about how much you think a taxi would probably be from there?

How far away is united palace theatre in manhattan from penn station?passions soap opera

The United Palace Theater is on 4140 Broadway (near 175th Street) in upper Manhattan (Washington Heights).

Your BEST bet would be at Penn Station to take the "A" train uptown to the 175th Street Station and walk over one block (east) to Broadway. You would be near the GWB Bus Terminal so that area is busy.

You could do it by cab, but being so far uptown expect to spend about $16 - $20, guesstimate.

What to do in London ?

I am going to London for three days this week, weather forecast is not good ( not much I can do about that ) I am taking my 15 year old son, we are used to a very rural way of life, so even the underground will be an adventure !!! So far we have a evening at the theatre booked to see "Wicked" and a tip on the London eye plus Madame Tousourds, we would like to go to Trafalgar Square and Buckinham Palace, someone has also suggested a place called Ed's diner, which I believe is a milkshake bar and the Hard Rock Cake. Any other ideas which I am hoping that my son will take back great memories of his trip there ?? !!

What to do in London ?ms stress

err London, you can try to go down Downing Street and see Tony Blair, ok not the best person to see but hey, its a good experiecne.

Go on the tube network, always a great experience, i went once (before 7/7) although its knida nervracking after what happened.

What to do in London ?home theater system opera theater

The Natural history museum is worth a visit!
u could try going 2 the london dungeons-its scary but worth the pay, u could go to the boat trips, which is near the london eye-im sorry i dont know anything else, good luck xx
The Natural History Museum is a MUST..I Love it. Try the Londom Aquarium which overlooks the river, the Trocadero (follow the signs from Piccadilly Circus Underground station) which is a massive entertainment complex type thing, with a cinema and restaurants. also look around Piccadilly Circus, Leicester Sq, Trafalgar Sq.

Camden Market is also a must, its like an adventure, with so much diversity in the types of people there, plus the food in the Lock Market is great (not posh or anythin, a bit like a chinese takeaway really, but its an experience).

You could then go to Chinatown for Dim Sum, its really nice there, and it gets the thumbs up from me for being the most authentic chinese food ive ever eaten in the UK (i'm half chinese). Order Har Gau (prawn dumplings), Char Sui Bow (pork bun), Har Cherng Fung (like spring rolls, but not deep fried.) and Sui Mai (pork dumplings) as well as anything that takes your fancy. like traditional dim sum restaurants in Hong Kong, they come around on trolleys.

then try Covent Garden, go to the Doc Martin shop, look around. also the Seven Dials statue, so u can look down every street. if your son is into surf/skate clothes or shoes, then try Carnaby Street, which is near Piccadilly Circus.

then there is the famous Harrod's, Hamley's toy store (its pretty good for a 15 year old!) and the Tower Of London.

thats all i can think of off the top of my head at this moment, sorry! hope this helps, and hope you have an excellent time!
Why not do a random walk around Leicester square where there are street performers etc and have a meal in china town? Why anyone would recommend two American theme places on a trip to London is baffling.

Any visit to a big city should include wandering time!
I've just spent a weekend in London and would recommend the Royal Observatory at Greenwich - you could either travel there by water taxi or train. Entrance is free to the Observatory %26amp; there are new galleries to look at as part of the redevelopment - the only thing you would have to pay to go in is the planetarium. You can also visit the Old Naval College and Queen's House while you're there and that's free admission too. If the weather is nice you can explore Greenwich Park or walk down into Greenwich to see what remains of the Cutty Sark.
go to the dungeons, or the science museum. The Natural history museum is great and the tower of london may be good.
How about the Natural History Museum or the British Museum or even the Science Museum? If he likes that sort of thing of course. Most 15 year old boys I know wouldn't entertain the idea though!!
I was just there a few weeks ago and in the same area as the London Eye is a Star Wars display ... sounds kind of random but if he is even remotely a fan, it is worth the time and money. I would also recommend the London Tower, Westminster Abbey and St. Paul's Cathedral. The changing of the guard is a must see... get there early to a good view! The weather wasn't great while we were there either, rained both days, carry umbrellas and it shouldn't be too unbearable, though. Have fun!

Top Attractions in the UK?

Top Attractions in the UK?binoculars

I've been to London 6 times, and managed to do each of the things you mentioned (except a play, for which I was too broke) in the first 3-day trip I took there. In Edinburgh I also managed to see the Castle and walk along the Royal Mile, and go to a few museums in one day. We took a day trip up to Bridge of Allan, where we just explored the beautiful, quaint little town, and from there went to Sterling. There was beautiful scenery with a view of the William Wallace Monument, a castle, and a wonderfully friendly little town where we stopped at a pub for dinner. Point it, you can do a lot in a little bit of time.

A double decker bus tour is worth it the first time you go to London, as you can cross off a lot of sights and get your bearings of the main points in the city. Your pass is good for a full 24 hours, too, saving you money on additional tube passes.

London Eye why cuz its rele cool to see the whole city, almost all the streets of London, take the double decker bus tour cuz London is rele nice and it takes you to places like Prince Charles Castle, the rest of the places you listed sound alright but i think the best thing is stay most of your time in London and explore around that only if you like the city

Also, the seaside is only a couple of hours Bus ride away on the excellent YORKSHIRE COASTLINER (service 840 from Leeds to York, then onto my hometown of Whitby)

Along the way the bus also passes through the village of Goathland, and you get an excellent view of the Station on the NORTH YORKSHIRE MOORS RAILWAY, which was used as the location for HOGSMEADE Station in the first 2 HARRY POTTER movies.

As for my Home town of Whitby (voted Britain's BEST seaside resort), it's got an ancient ruined Abbey, 3miles of beach, THE MAGPIE CAFE (one of the best seafood restaurants in the country), Botham's Bakery, 2 long piers, "The Dracula Experience", several museums + a 1/3rd Scale replica of Captain Cook's ship HM BARK ENDEAVOUR........ there's also a full sized sailing ship, THE GRAND TURK but no one's sure how much longer it's going to be here 'cos the owners currently have it up for sale (锟?million)

Take her to Warwick Castle! I think the entertainment is on for the summer season now (jousting, trebuchet, archery etc.) There is also a really nice place to stay next door called The Park Cottage which is a historical building itself.
i normally take foreign tourists to covent gardens, british museum, tate then onto windsor castle and eton and finally stonehenge and oxford
As a recent tourist, I can tell you that the Tower of London is overrated. Skip that one. Take her to Harrods. That is a great store. Visitors usually like Madame Tussauds Wax Museum as well. Hope this helps a little.
york would be good, then a tour of the dales followed by a trip to scarborough.culture then beauty followed by fun.
In London you could go to Madame Tussuad's wax work museum , The Planetarium both on Marylebone Rd . In the afternoon you could go to the science museum and the natural history museum in South Kensington. Then there is Westminster abbey, St. Paul's Cathedral, The tower of London (feed the ravens) and have a look at the crown jewels. The National Gallery, The British Museum ,Hyde Park and then out to Wembley to have a look at the new stadium.

Camden Lock , Oxford street , Regent street , Portabello Road, Leicester square , Covent Garden Spittafield market , Fleet street Houses of Parliament , Big Ben , St Martin in the fields , Picadilly, Mayfair and then go to the east end. Not forgetting Brixton and Waterloo.

When you get out of London I think Bath and Wells and Glastonberry are nice towns and you could drop in on Stonehenge on the way. I hope i have given you some ideas . Have a nice time.
I say take her to a proper British pub and have a good pub meal with a pint of decent beer (not lager, she can get that back home!). Introduce her to marmite as well ^_^. How about taking her to see the outside of Buckingham Palace and the Crown Jewels and what not? I've got a German person coming over in July so I've been thinking about this sort of thing too.
The open top big red bus company is always a popular one for tourists! Fingers crossed you have the weather though. There is a deal on at the moment with the trains, 2 for 1 offer at loads of london attractions, perfect you say - check out www.2for1entry.co.uk.

For castles try Windsor (close to London but its a bit overated) or if you are prepared to travel, very gorgeous Warwick. Better still why not get a cheap day return flight to Edinburgh and get a wee bit of bonny scotland in your agenda. Of course dorset, cornwall is perfect for that typical 'english rose' settings and why not try a spot of surfing in Newquay! Ahh and close to brighton and bournemouth, again quaint seaside towns. ( make a visit to Lulworth cove - its gorgeous there)

My friend, London rocks but after 3 days you must get out the rat race and explore, cities become all the same after a while. Many of us do not appreciate just what beauty is out there! Hope this helps :-)
go to madam tusards, harrods she will love that ,

if its still on go see the rat pack at the theatre i saw it at the strand!!!!

you could also go to the silver vaults!!!!!!!!!

hope that helps
there is no where like Blackpool it has every thing.
if she likes shopping then you could take her to oxford street!! :)

oh and quite a lot of tourists like to go on the underground tubes and the red buses. maybe u could even go on a tour bus which will take u round central London, showing you and explaining all about the different London attractions.
If you want to do seaside and castle, why not take her to Arundel Castle (90 mins by train from Victoia) lovely place and beautiful town, then hop back on the train and down to Littlehampton ( a further 10 mins by train, 2 stops) good beach, nice marina and small harbour.

Also if your doing London get the 2 for 1 offer booklet from one of the Mainline Railway Stations, obtain a travelcard each and get some good bargins.

Kew Gardens, Hampton Court, The Museums in South Kensington, DUKW (the yellow duck) River trip is fun, The Tate Gallery (New or Old ones), the list could go on, it all depends on your tastes and requirements.

Personnaly I would not do the Tower, Tussards, extremley over priced now and full of tourists.

Outside of London there are so many places to do and see, you have a huge History, palaces, gardens, etc, etc, to choose from it all depends on your budget, travel time and how to travel to these locations.

Have Fun and check out some of the sites like National Trust, English Heritage, and some of the County Council sites have lists of local attractions within their respective areas.

Good Luck
If you want her to experience the soul of London, take her to places where she can feel like a Londoner. Tourist places are not one of them. I would reccomend:

A good Club (funky Buddha, China White, Voodoo)

Good Shopping (Oxford Circus and Brent Cross in Wembley etc)

Good restaurant (I love Chiquitos - Mexican)

Trocaddero in Picadilly Circus

Don't you think Detroit is the prettiest city in the world?

It's amazing how much they are doing to the city. You must see it to believe it! Here are a few photos as proof:

First, we start with the wonderful restoration of the Madison theatre. The new gleam of the plaster is astonishing!

Now we move on to the United Artist theater. The renovation work is so astonishing here I've enclosed two pictures

Yea or Nay? Here's my plan: I am going to my local cable provider tomorrow. I am canceling dsl

land phone and cable t.v are also going out the window. We will save $148.00 per month. I will use that money to go to the Philarmonic Orchestra, or great restaurants like Brennan's, Arnaud's, Commander's Palace, Ruth Chris Steak House, etc. We get rabbit ears for the t.v.s. We go to the local theatres for entertainment? Can it work? Will we survive, without the Media? Thanks for any feedback!!!

Yea or Nay? Here's my plan: I am going to my local cable provider tomorrow. I am canceling dsl Internet?home theatre

It won't work. You spend way too much time on the internet, so maybe it's a good idea to cut out the land line and the TV and take that $100 and use 20 of it for Netflix and a night out with the other $80.

Edit: Get real, dude, the wife and kids aren't going to ride or walk to your internet connection -- 4 people, best restaurants in the world? not a chance - a trip to Appleby's willl run 4 people $60 bucks.

Yea or Nay? Here's my plan: I am going to my local cable provider tomorrow. I am canceling dsl Internet?ballet theater opera theater

Well i guess if you are cancelling it tomorrow you won't see what wonderful answers we will all come up with.

Its a convenience, and in its own way it is replacing traditional venues like local theaters. We all work longer, harder days, and finding the time to squeeze in such luxuries as Ruth's Chris are becoming more and more difficult. Why not TiVo food network, get some ideas to make a steak the way you want, not how someone else may want it. You'd also get the satisfaction of doing something yourself, then invite poeple over to wow them with your new culinary skills, and suddenly you're social again BECAUSE of the internet/TV.

Or surf the 'net for videos of local performances, hell you could even find a play you like and see a hundred different versions of it from places all over the world. Pause it when you want to, missed something? Rewind it. True, it won't replace the feeling of a live show, but there are enough advantages to at least consider it as a replacement.

There are a few sites that are archiving royalty-free books. You can read the text on-line, texts that you would never find at your local library, and even include the original artwork that lines the pages. Or you could take that $148 and every month buy a rare book at an antique dealer.

Instead of complaining that you're spending too much time at your desk or on your couch, turn it around and use the seemingly endless resources available on the Internet as a tool to adding activities to your life!
survival isn't the issue, of course you can survive without the high speed and extra channels...its a matter of sanity and overall exoense, not just money but time and energy involved in going to other venues for entertainment....and if you are getting rid of your landline, are you planning on having cable connection for your pc or getting rid of that as well? If going with the cable modem end of things you may save just as much or close to it by switching services to your cable provider....you can survive without cable tv, you can also survive without high speed internet, or any at all, but the energy it takes to switch back, and also the extra "hidden" costs of not having the conveniences are about $150.00/month.
Hey,why not just keep the internet, you can watch most tv shows on the net.
what would lyou do without Y!answers? j/k. Humans survived for millions of years without the crap, so i am sure you can. Will it save you money? probably not, but you will have a better time getting out than staying in and being a lazy butt.
the tickets and dinners you buy will cost way more than the cable, internet, landline by far. sounds good in theory I guess, but the math does not add up.
Sounds like an awesome idea to me.
t.v. yes.

internet, depends on you or your job, what if you need the internet for something?

I would suggest at least a slow dial-up internet connection or something. that's all.

I personally can't survive without because I have so many projects from school that I would die from days and days of library research :)
I think it's a great idea. If you really don't need that much entertainment at home and you can live without it then why not? You'll either love it or hate it in the end anyways.

Cable: It's great to cut your cable subscription if you don't watch that much tv anyways. But if you're in the States, you have to remember that we're going digital sometime in 2009 so bunny ears won't work anymore.

Landline Phone: I don't have one either. I get crazy minutes on my cellphone that there's no need to keep my landline phone since I always use my cell phone anyways.

Internet: I don't know about you but I can't live without it. I pay my bills online, renew my car registration, shop and even get my pay stub online. If you can live without it then more power to you. You can always go to a place that has free Wifi.
